Dolly is a beautiful 18month old, female cat who came to S.A.R.A. as a stray. Dotty craves attention and loves a good fuss! We feel Dotty could live with another cat. When we took Dotty for a routine health check, the vet sadly discovered that Dotty has a heart murmur. Dotty deserves a home where she can have a happy life with lots of love. We want to assure any potential new owner that S.A.R.A. will support them fully in whatever way necessary. If you have any questions about Dotty, do not hesitate to give us a ring at the farm and ask for a member of staff. RESERVED.
Milo is a very sweet, 8yr old, Terrier cross who came to S.A.R.A. following a change in his owners circumstances. Milo is a great little dog who walks well alongside our other dogs at the centre. However, we feel Milo would be better homed as an only pet as this is what he has been used to. Milo is an active dog and would enjoy long walks. He could potentially live with older children. RESERVED.
This is Jack (aka Sox) who I adopted from SARA when he was 10 years old. He came with a pension plan due to his age which meant that vets bills were covered for his existing and degenerative conditions. He had pancreatitis and the start of arthritis.
I don’t think I expected to have him that long on account of his age, and problems, but he has just left us after 7 wonderful years, proof that the older dogs can still make the best of pets!
Jack had been picked up on the streets in East Cleveland trying to fend for himself in the bins apparently! He wasn’t in great shape, not chipped and had damage to his mouth/jaw and teeth which suggested he may have been hit by something or someone. He wasn’t suited to kennel life, was nervous and fearful. He had been returned already by prospective owners after trying to dominate their bigger dogs so was back at kennels once again.
I went in and after speaking to Steven about what I was looking for in a dog he returned with another dog, and Jack/Sox. My heart melted when I saw him as he looked so bedraggled and nervous. I took him for a walk and the rest is history as they say.
He never did really see eye-to-eye with other dogs, had an ear-piercing yap and was always a dog who liked his own space, and tennis balls as you can see! – But he was the most loyal, easily pleased little dog we could have hoped for. He came everywhere with us on holiday, weekends, days out and was just happy to be with us wherever that may be.
His stomach always played him up, the arthritis got worse and about a year and a half ago he started to suffer from doggy dementia which left him incontinent. He wasn’t able to go walks anymore and seemed depressed at the end so I knew the time had come to say goodbye to our beloved pet.
Thank-you Jack for All you gave us. You leave us with a lot of treasured memories over the years and you hold a special place in our hearts forever.
Golden Slumbers. Rest in peace Little One. Xxxxx
Lola is an 18 month old Saluki cross. Lola is a fantastic dog with bags of personality and energy to match. This young girl loves playing in the pen with tennis balls and squeakers! Lola should have been a Kangaroo and not a dog as she loves to bounce and jump around. We are hoping to home Lola with a family that have another dog as she loves going on walks with the other dogs at the centre and sometimes refuses to walk unless she has another four legged friend to walk with. Lola can live with children 1o years . OUT ON TRIAL.
Rhubarb and Custard are a very friendly pair of cats who came to S.A.R.A. when their owner sadly passed away. Rhubarb is 6yr old female and Custard is a 5yr old male. Custard is very confident and will spend his time on the cat tree, waiting for our volunteers to come and give him a fuss. Rhubarb is a little more reserved and enjoys snuggling up in her bed, near the radiator. Rhubarb and Custard would like a home where they will get all of the attention they deserve. Reserved.
Susie is a lovely 9yr old girl who came to S.A.R.A. through no fault of her own. Susie is a friendly lady who enjoys spending time with our volunteer cat cuddlers. Susie would need to be an indoor cat. She is finding life in the cattery difficult and would love a nice, calm home to call her own preferably as an only pet. OUT ON TRIAL.
Jimmy is a gorgeous 8 month old Saluki cross who came to S.A.R.A. following a change in his owners circumstances. Jimmy is a very active young man. He loves to race around in the pen and enjoys his walks with our other dogs. Jimmy knows basic commands and will play fetch with our staff and volunteers. We feel Jimmy would be best homed with another dog as he loves to play. Jimmy could possibly live with older children and would need a home with no small animals.
Tina and Ruby are a beautiful pair of 5yr old Shih Tzu cross sisters who came to S.A.R.A. when their owner sadly passed away. Tina and Ruby love to go for walks together and will happily walk with our other dogs and they have lived with other dogs previously. These sisters love to play in the garden and will chase around after each other. Ruby is more outgoing whereas Tina is a little more reserved. We feel that Tina and Ruby could possibly live with children 8 and could live with another dog(s). These two lovely little girls would make someone or a family wonderful companions. Tina and Ruby will be highly sought after, therefore we will be looking for the most suitable home. OUT ON TRIAL.
Sooty and Ozzy came to S.A.R.A. following a change in their owners circumstances. They are 4yrs and 5yrs old and are the best of friends. These gorgeous boys love snuggling up together in their beds and exploring the cattery. Ozzy and Sooty would need to go to a home with no young children as they were stressed in the past around children in their previous home. Like many other black cats in our care, they are being overlooked. They are fantastic cats and Ozzy and Sooty would make wonderful companions for a first time cat owner. Reserved.
Percy came in to S.A.R.A. as a stray in October. Percy is a very loving cat and will come straight out of his bed if he hears someone coming in to the cattery! All of our cats are blood tested and for Percy, it revealed that he is FIV positive. For this reason, Percy would need to be homed as an indoor cat.
If you would like to learn more about FIV, please have a look at the following link. https://www.catchat.org/index.php/fiv
