Meg

“Meg was a beautiful Dog that had been treated truly unfairly and given an awful start in life, we found her and she chose to follow us home, if she had not done this then we would never have been able to have had some of the happiest moments in recent year’s.
Meg will always be a reminder that no matter how old a dog is they all deserve a second chance at happiness, she is sorely missed x”

FUN DOG SHOW 2017

On Saturday 1st July SARA held its annual Fun Dog Show.  It was very well attended with everyone having a good time.  Both dogs (and owners) were very well behaved. There was lots of home made food available and a variety of stalls. Everyone enjoyed the day.  We collected £2500 on the day and had £500 in sponsorship  Click here for more photos.

Kate is a beautiful 1yr old, semi long haired cat. Kate came to S.A.R.A. when she was abandoned by her owner. Kate is a very pretty young lady. She can be a little shy initially but soon comes out of her shell. Kate is looking for a quiet home as an only pet and with no young children.

Zumba is a lovely 4 year old tabby male who came into us after he became stressed  to say in his home due barking dog that had moved into the area. He can be a quiet and shy little fella at first till he gets to know you. He is looking for a home where he can be a house cat as that is all he has ever known, preferably with no other pets. Indoor Cat.

Max

Max is a 6 year old staffy cross who came to S.A.R.A. following a change in his owners circumstances. Max is a very playful and LOVES his tennis ball! Max walks well alongside other dogs but we feel he would prefer a home as an only dog. Max is very strong on lead so would benefit from a continuation of his training. Since coming to S.A.R.A., Max has already made great improvement.

Milo is a 6 year old staffie cross who came in to our care following a change in his owners circumstances. Milo is a lovely little dog with a cheeky personality, he may be 6 years old but still acts like a young pup and loves being babied. He walks nicely alongside our other dogs but would benefit from some training, perhaps attending a dog class as he still seems unsure how to greet dogs.  Milo has made great progress since being here with us and is more than ready to find a family to call his own. Milo would make a fantastic family pet but we feel he should be the only dog in the household. Reserved.

Buddy is a 4 year old American bulldog cross who came into our care following a change in his owners circumstances. Buddy is a very intelligent dog who thrives when following commands for treats. Buddy enjoys playing in the pen and going for long walks with our volunteers. This poor boy is very stressed in kennels and doesn’t show himself well. We feel this is why this beautiful boy has been with us for so long. Buddy is looking for an active home with plenty of mental stimulation. He would need to be an only pet.

On Sunday 4th June2017  SARA held their annual Strawberry and Chocolate Fayre at Foxrush Farm. There was a good attendance with everyone enjoying the strawberries and cream. The event also included a display of flyball by Middlesbrough Dog Club, a parade of dogs for rehoming and those who have been rehomed and had come back to see us. It gives the staff and volunteers a boost to see their former charges so healthy and happy. Our thanks to everyone who supported the event by attending, volunteering and the staff for the great work they do on a daily basis. SARA raised £765.

One of the founding members of SARA and its driving force passed away on morning of 8th of June 2017.

21 years ago Ann with a small group of friends helped to rescue dogs and cats and at that time placed them with friends that acted as foster carers. Within One year Saltburn Animal Rescue became a registered charity  and is well known throughout the area.

Ten years ago the charity opened Foxrush Farm  on Kirkleatham Lane Redcar.

Over the years several hundred dogs and cats have been re homed.

Over the years Ann has worked tirelessly  to achieve her dream and in recognition of all her hard work the charity is to be known as SARA Foxrush Farm. Ann Prosser Foundation

The Charity wishes to thank everyone  for all your kindness and support and we shall continue with  all that that has been achieved
