Storm is a very beautiful 1yr old male cat who came to S.A.R.A. following a change in his owners circumstances. Storm enjoys spending time with our volunteers but on his own terms. Storms absolute favourite pass time is playing with his feather on a stick toy! He loves to stalk and dive on the feather! Storm is looking for an experienced cat owner with no children and no other pets in the home.

Snape and Luna are a lovely pair of male cats who came to S.A.R.A. through no fault of their own. Luna is 2yrs old and Snape is 3yrs old. Snape enjoys spending time wandering around outside on his cat harness while Luna enjoys snoozing on the cat tree. These two cats love snuggling up together and have a very close bond. Snape and Luna have lived as indoor cats but Snape in particular would love to be able to continue his adventures on the harness in a garden.

Skye is a gorgeous 7 month old girl who came to S.A.R.A. as a stray. Skye is a wonderful dog who loves the company of other dogs and people. This little girl would need a home with another dog. Skye would also benefit from training classes. OUT ON TRIAL.

Milly is a beautiful, 5yr old lurcher cross who came to S.A.R.A. through no fault of her own. Millys favourite thing is playing fetch off lead, on the field with her tennis ball or Frisbee and enjoys the company of dogs she has got to know in her time with us. However, we feel Milly would be better suited to a home as an only dog as although she walks well and can be off lead around other dogs that she knows, she has no interest in playing and is very focused on her toys. Milly would be looking for an active home where she can enjoy long walks and get the mental stimulation she requires. Like many lurchers, after a long walk or a good run, Milly will happily have a snooze in her kennel. Milly is a very intelligent and obedient dog and she is brilliant with commands. Milly would be better suited to a home with children 15yrs due to her bouncy and excitable nature.

Sonny is a stunning, 7yr old, long hair boy who was returned to S.A.R.A. due to allergies in the family. Sonny is a very affectionate cat who enjoys his home comforts. Sonny loves curling up in his furry beds and having a fuss with our volunteers. Sonny is looking for his forever home and a snuggly bed to call his own! Sonny has lived with dogs and cats in the past so could possibly go to a home with other pets.

Misty is a very beautiful, 4yr old, semi long hair cat who came to S.A.R.A. when her owner sadly passed away. Misty enjoys having cuddles in her cattery pen but will let you know when she has had enough. Misty also likes to spend time snoozing next to her radiator. Misty is looking for a home as an only pet and with an experienced cat owner. Misty could live with older children who have spent time with cats in the past.

Marley is a gorgeous, 4yr old Shar Pei who came to S.A.R.A. following a change in his owners circumstances. Marley enjoys playing in our doggy sensory garden and will come over for cuddles when he finished exploring. Marley enjoys his walks and will walk nicely alongside our females. That said, we feel Marley would be better homed as an only pet. Ideally, Marley would be looking for a home with an experienced Shar Pei owner or an owner who knows the breed. For more information on Marley or any of our animals, give us a ring on 01642 488108 and ask to speak with a staff member 🙂    RESERVED

We would like to say a HUGE thank you for all those who collected wish tokens for us.  We came second and will be receiving £992.89.  This will be a great help in helping all our animals.

One again Thank You

Pets at Home VIP Club have this week donated a pallet of cat food (approximately 3000 pouches). Their generosity will really help SARA and is much appreciated.

During December the Support Adoption for Pets held their Santa Paws appeal at all their Pets at Home stores.

All the staff at Middlesbrough store supported by a team from SARA asked customers to contribute 50p towards a Christmas dinner for animals in rescue centres. It was a tremendous effort and the support by customers was outstanding.

In the month £2,897 was raised.  This was split between Support Adoption For Pets and SARA.  This resulted in a cheque being presented to SARA for £1448.50.  This will help SARA look after the animals.

The animals at SARA were given a Christmas dinner of chicken, beef and pork together with the trimmings.  There was so much food that they had the same on Boxing Day. Our thanks go out to all the customers who kindly donated.

The little dog in the picture is Sam who was rescued 2 years ago with a deformed foot. After an appeal to raise funds to cover his treatment and 7 operations later he has finally been given the all clear and now he just needs physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to finish the job. In two weeks time he can run off lead for the first time since the treatment began.
