Sooty and Ozzy came to S.A.R.A. following a change in their owners circumstances. They are 4yrs and 5yrs old and are the best of friends. These gorgeous boys love snuggling up together in their beds and exploring the cattery. Ozzy and Sooty would need to go to a home with no young children as they were stressed in the past around children in their previous home. Like many other black cats in our care, they are being overlooked. They are fantastic cats and Ozzy and Sooty would make wonderful companions for a first time cat owner.
Percy came in to S.A.R.A. as a stray in October. Percy is a very loving cat and will come straight out of his bed if he hears someone coming in to the cattery! All of our cats are blood tested and for Percy, it revealed that he is FIV positive. For this reason, Percy would need to be homed as an indoor cat.
If you would like to learn more about FIV, please have a look at the following link. https://www.catchat.org/index.php/fiv
Jax and Tigger came to S.A.R.A. following a change in their owners circumstances. These beautiful boys are super affectionate and love getting plenty of cuddles with our volunteers. Jax and Tigger are 2yrs old and would like a home where they can get all the attention they deserve. These brothers would make wonderful family pets and would be lovely companions for a first time pet owner. As with many black and black and white cats, Jax and Tigger are being overlooked. Reserved.
Start off your New Year with a dip in the sea at Saltburn to help all the animals at SARA. Sponsor forms and details are below.
We have recently been granted planning permission to build four new, high quality kennels at our animal sanctuary. The ground work has now started and this is what they will look like when they are finished.
In addition to this, our existing eight kennels will have to be closed in the near future for major refurbishment. Our biggest problem is that our kennels often flood due to poor drainage. We are planning to resolve this with a total refurbishment of these kennels to a high standard and it is hoped this work will start in the spring.
The expected cost of all the planned worked will be in excess of £120,000!!!!!
We are a small animal charity and our overheads are kept to an absolute minimum. Despite this, we are constantly striving to improve our facilities so we can rescue more neglected and mistreated animals, and continue to build on our excellent reputation. We now have this opportunity to extend and improve our current facilities.
How can you help?
We have opened a Charity Choice account on our web site and all donations will be recorded. To donate click on here to go to the page. The four new kennels are costing £15,000 each. If a single donation is made for this amount either by an individual or a business, the kennel can be sponsored by that person or that of a loving pet. However, donations large and small will be massively appreciated.Regular updates and photos will be on our website and our Facebook page.
If you would like further information about this exciting project, please contact the farm and talk to a member of staff, or if possible visit our sanctuary and we shall be happy to show you round.
SARA is once again appealing for Evening Gazette wish tokens. This brings in money that will allow us to further enhance the lives of the animals in our care
If you could please collect these tokens from the Evening Gazette and either hand them or post them into Foxrush Farm or our shop in Guisborough.
Charlie is a very sweet 6yr old staffy cross who came to S.A.R.A. following a change in his owners circumstances. Charlie enjoys going for walks with our volunteers as much as he enjoys relaxing in his bed with a chewy treat! Charlie will walk well alongside another dog but we feel he would be better rehomed as an only pet.
Little Ivy is just 18 months old and came to S.A.R.A. having been a stray for a year. Ivy enjoys spending time with our volunteer cat cuddlers. She is a very sweet little lady who would love a home to call her own as she loves her home comforts.
Milly is a beautiful 8yr old girl who came to S.A.R.A. when her owner sadly passed away. Milly is a very sweet cat who enjoys spending time in her dome bed but she will come straight out for a fuss when the staff and volunteers go in. Milly has lived as an indoor/outdoor cat so would like to have access to the outdoors when she has settled in.
Tara is a gorgeous little 13 year old terrier mix who came to S.A.R.A. through no fault of her own. Tara is so sweet. She enjoys going for short walks and spending time in the cabin having a cuddle with our volunteers. Tara is looking for a relaxed, quiet home where she can get all the attention she deserves. Tara would like to be able to go for a play in the garden and for walks as she is still quite an active little lady.
