The next monthly meeting of S.A.R.A. will be held on 2^nd May, at 7.30pm in the TocH premises, Albion Terrace, Saltburn.  New members are always very welcome.

5^th May – Members of SARA will be holding a collection at Windlebridge Garden Nursery, Middlesbrough Road, Guisborough.  All donations will go to the Foxrush Farm Sanctuary and Re-homing Centre Fund.

12th May – SARA will be holding a Table Top Sale in the Saltburn Community Centre from 10am to 4pm.  Refreshments will be on sale.  All proceeds will go to the Foxrush Farm Sanctuary and Re-homing fund.

Sunday 27^th May – SARA will be holding their Annual Sponsored Dog Walk on Sunday 27^th May, at Foxrush Farm, our Sanctuary and Re-homing Centre, Kirkleatham Lane, Redcar, TS10 5NJ from 11am to 2pm.  Parking will be available on the field of Foxrush.

There will be two walks that will both start from the field at Foxrush. One will be 30 minutes and the second 1 hour.  After starting from the field, both walks will be held in the pleasant surroundings of the Foxrush Community woodland.

Owners who have had a dog from us are invited to take part in the walk, and also the general public with their pets. There will also be some of our dogs that are looking for new homes. Dogs that have been re-homed usually wear green ribbons and those that are looking for homes wear red.  If you don’t have a dog we will lend you one.  There will be various stalls and refreshments, including tombola, pet stall, home made cakes, raffle, etc.  Come along with family, friends and pets and take part in what is always an enjoyable day.    Sponsor forms will be available from Foxrush Farm, and our Charity shop in Guisborough. Funds recently raised. – Easter Fayre held in Marske Hall £523.73.  SARA thanks everyone who made this event such a success.

7^th April – SARA will be holding an Easter Fayre on Saturday 7^th April, from 10am to 2pm, at Marske Hall, (formerly Leonard Cheshire Home). Stalls will include books, tombola, raffle and homemade cakes.  Refreshments will be on sale.

1^st January 2012 – To start the New Year, members of SARA will be holding their New Year’s Day Sponsored Dip. This takes place at the Pier Saltburn at 11.00am.
The number of people attending grows each year and  is enjoyed by those taking  part, onlookers and their pets.  Please come along and join  in the fun.

21 January 2012 – SARA will be holding a table-top sale in the Saltburn Community Centre, on Saturday 21^st January, form 10.00am to 4.00pm.  Refreshments will be on sale.  All funds raised will go towards the Foxrush Farm Sanctuary and Re-homing Fund.

Members of SARA would like to thank the Squealer Group for the excellent entertainment and support they gave at the Social Evening held at Saltburn Cricket Club recently.  The sum of £728 was raised and we give our grateful thanks to everyone who contributed, and made the evening so successful.

£526.00 was raised at the recent Christmas Fayre held at Marske Hall.  Thank you  to everyone who attended and  made it a success.  The funds will go to the Foxrush Farm Sanctuary and Re-homing fund..

 3^rd December 2011 – S.A.R.A. will be holding a Christmas Fayre on Saturday 3^rd December, at  Marske Hall, Redcar Road, Marske (Formerly Sir Leonard Cheshire Home)  from 10.00am to 2.00pm.

Sherry and  Mince Pies, Coffee and  refreshments will be available.  There will be a variety of  stalls including tombola, books, jeweller and Christmas gifts.  Come along with all the family.  Your support is greatly appreciated and will help all the animals who desperately need our help.

Sunday 11^th December – Once again S.A.R.A. will be holding Carols at  Foxrush Farm, on Sunday 11^th December, from 2pm – 3pm.  There is plenty of  parking space . There will be refreshments.  Please come along   and bring pets, family and friends..  This is always  a most enjoyable event.

Wednesday 21^st December – Members of  S.A.R.A. will be holding a collecting day in Middlesbrough.  All donations will go towards the Foxrush Farm Sanctuary and Re-homing Fund.

Members of S.A.R.A. will once again be braving the icy waters of the North Sea on New Year’s Day.

The Evening Gazette are running their Wish Token scheme again this year.

We are asking people to collect the wish tokens, the more we get the more money we will receive.

You can either send or take the token to the farm or put them in any of the boxes placed around the area. Please help if you can, and remember, the more wish tokens we can collect, the more we can benefit.

Saturday 26^th November – S.A.R.A will be holding a Social Evening, “Squealer” Entertaining, at Saltburn Cricket Club, 7.30pm to 11.00pm.  Tickets £6.00 includes Pie and Pea Supper. A Raffle and Tombola will also be held.

ANIMAL SANCTUARY MANAGER

Salary £13,900 – £16,400 dependant on experience

 SARA are looking for a live in Manager who will be responsible for the day to day running of our animal sanctuary at Redcar (weekends inclusive).  This will include caring for and re-homing animals in the sanctuary, supervising volunteers and helping with fundraising.

The successful applicant will need an appropriate animal care qualification or significant relevant experience.

10^thSeptember -  We are holding our popular Open Day on Saturday 10^th September, from 11.00am to 4.00pm at Foxrush Farm, Kirkleatham Lane, Redcar. TS10 5NJ.  

There will be games both for dogs and children, also tombola and the Grand Raffle this will be drawn at 3.00pm. There will also be a variety of stalls.  Refreshments including home-made cakes and a barbecue will be available. Dog Agility displays throughout the day.  Conducted Tours are held to enable people to see the progress that has been made since the last open day.  This has only been made possible through the generosity of members of the public throughout the year, and we are most grateful for all the support we receive.  

Come along with family, friends and pets. Even if the weather is not too good we now are able to be undercover.

24^thSeptember – A collecting day will be held in Saltburn  All donations will go to the Foxrush Farm Sanctuary and Re-homing fund.

13th August – SPONSOR AND RE-UNION ANIMAL DAY AND 4^TH BIRTHDAY AT FOXRUSH FARM, KIRKLEATHAM LANE, REDCAR, TS10 5NJ. 11.00am to 3.00pm.

A fun re-union day will be held at Foxrush Farm, on Saturday 13^th August, with SARA dogs who have been re-homed.  It also gives people the chance to see their sponsored dogs.  We will also be celebrating our 4^th Birthday at Foxrush Farm.  This will commence at 11.00am and closes at 3.00pm.

Refreshments will be available, and there will be a variety of stalls including tombola, raffles, bric-a-brac and homemade cakes.  We are also holding a Photograph  Competition bring along your favourite photographs of your pet.  There will be different  classes such as the most appealing, funniest,
cuddliest and others.

S.A.R.A’s ANNUAL FUN DOG SHOW – Members of S.A.R.A. would like to thank everyone who attended the Fun Dog Show in July, for making the event such a success.  A total of £2,235.32 was raised, a fantastic amount. We really appreciate the support given and funds raised will go towards
the Foxrush Farm Sanctuary and Re-homing fund.

This will help so many animals that desperately need our help.

Here are a few pictures of a group of people who raised £150:00 and some food for us. They are VW beetle enthusiasts who have a yearly rally to
raise funds and this year decided to donate it to SARA. A Lady called Tracy Wilson brought the cheque up with a group of the enthusiasts to have a look around. Our sincere thanks go to them, for choosing us this year.

NEW EVENTS COMING UP:

4th June – A collecting day will be held in Saltburn, on Saturday 4^th June in aid of the Foxrush Farm Sanctuary Fund.

11^th June – Members of S.A.R.A. are holding a Strawberry and Chocolate Fayre, at Foxrush Farm, Kirkleatham Lane, Redcar. TS105NJ on Saturday 11^th June, from 1pm to 4pm. There will be delicious home- made refreshments, and a variety of stalls.   Dogs and their families welcome, enjoy a lovely afternoon, whilst supporting S.A.R.A. your local animal rescue charity.

12th June - S.A.R.A. will be holding a stall at the Guisborough Town Fair on Sunday 12^th June.

25^th June – A Charity Night will be held at the Erimus Quoits and Rifle Social Club, Cumberland Road, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough, on Saturday 25^th June, at 7.30pm.  The evening will be held in aid of S.A.R.A. and Macmillan Nurses. Tickets  £2.50 will be available from S.A.R.A. Charity Shop Guisborough,  Erimus Club or ring 01642 818208.  There will be a buffet, tombola, Disco, Bingo and raffle.

Morrison’s Back Pack £800. A Charity Night in aid of  S.A.R.A. and Macmillan Nurses raised £360. Thank you to everyone who supported these events.
