Jeff is a very special 1yr old crossbreed who came to S.A.R.A. as a stray. Jeff loves going for walks with his dog friends and he is desperate to play with them, he just isn’t sure how. On arrival, it became clear that Jeff hadn’t experience a great deal. He was very nervous of new things and people. To add to this, Jeff was very underweight, had a swelling from severe trauma to his head and had many scars on his back which the vets suggested were burns. We have spent a lot of time introducing Jeff to different people, gazebos, wheelbarrows, carrier bags and much more! Jeff has now gained plenty of weight and confidence. The swelling on his head has decreased in size but is still visible. Sadly, the vets think the burn scars will stay with Jeff forever. We now feel Jeff is ready to find his new home! Jeff would be looking for a home with no children and with a female dog who can take him under her wing.

Caesar is a 16 mth old Perro de Presa Canario also known as a Canary Mastiff. Caesar first came into S.A.R.A after he was found as a stray at only 4 months old. It was clear to see that he hadn’t been socialised as he was scared of other dogs and strangers until he got to know them. After only a month or two a very experienced lady who had owned and worked with big dogs for a long time came forward to offer him a home. We thought it was great for him as she already had another dog and after a couple of meetings they got on fantastic. After only being in a home for 7 months he returned to S.A.R.A as his owner could no long look after him due to her becoming pregnant, she felt that she could no longer manage two large dogs. Over the last couple of months whilst he has been at the centre, Caesar has come on leaps and bounds, his confidence has grown as his training has progressed. We find that he walks very well on a halti and he is regularly walked with dogs of all sizes and breeds however Caesar can be a bit cautious around new dogs and  would need someone who could manage a dog of his size and be able to handle him correctly. He is a lovely dog who enjoys running around and playing with his toys as well as having a cuddle. He has became a fond favourite with the staff and volunteers. We are looking for a very experienced large dog breed owner who is willing to carry on Caesar`s training.  Caesar is looking for a home with no children and no other pets. If you feel you can offer this amazing dog a forever home do not hesitate to contact the centre on 01642 488108 or email us at sara.foxrushfarm@btconnect.com.

Jimmy is a gorgeous 15 month old Saluki cross who came to S.A.R.A. following a change in his owners circumstances. Jimmy is a very active young man. He loves to race around in the pen and enjoys his walks with our other dogs.  Jimmy knows basic commands and will play fetch with our staff and volunteers. We feel Jimmy would be best homed with another dog as he loves to play. Jimmy could possibly live with older children and would need a home with no small animals.

Max

Max is a 7 year old staffy cross who came to S.A.R.A. following a change in his owners circumstances. Max is a very playful and LOVES his tennis ball! Max walks well alongside other dogs but we feel he would prefer a home as an only dog. Max is very strong on lead but can be let off the lead to play with his tennis ball, he loves to play fetch although your lucky if he lets you have the ball back :). Since coming to S.A.R.A. poor Max has been over looked 🙁 he has already spent far too long here. Although Max is happy here and enjoys the new addition of a sofa in his kennel we are desperate to find this special boy, now considered by us as a long termer his new forever home.
