Helping SARA

Ways to help

If you would like to help S.A.R.A we have several ways to do so:

Volunteering at Foxrush

If you are over the age of 18 years old and would like to donate your time we are always looking for volunteers. There are several different opportunities to do so such as admin work in the office, working with the Animals which consist of dog walking and socialising, kennel and cattery cleaning as well as cat socialising. If you enjoy DIY or gardening we are always looking for help with general maintenance and upkeep of the centre.

If you are interested please fill in the attached form.

Due to the nature of the work involved, coupled with the unpredictability of animals in our care whose background and history is often unknown, we are unable to offer places where Health and Safety is paramount.

As an Animal Charity and Sanctuary we have an obligation and responsibility to protect all parties including animals and volunteers, so it is with regret we are unable to offer a placement to anyone who requires a carer or is linked to a support worker.

Volunteering at the Charity Shop

We are always looking for help with the general day to day running of our charity shop located on Guisborough high street. Our shop is where we sell lovely items’ that have been donated by the public in order to help with the ever increasing bills that come with running an animal rescue centre. If you would like to know about our shop please follow this link SARA Charity Shop

General Donations

S.A.R.A accepts all types of donations such as dog and cat food, bedding and towels to book and clothing anything that can’t be used for animal gets sent to our charity shop to be sold in order to raise money to help the animals. If you have anything you would like to donate to S.A.R.A all items’ will be gratefully accepted ether at Foxrush Farm or our shop in Guisborough. If you would like to make a financial contribution you can do this by ether cash, Cheque or via our Charity Choice web page.

Sponsor an Animal

SARA is engaged in the rescue and re-homing of strays and unwanted pet, but from time to time animals arrive which cannot, for a variety of reasons, be re-homed. These animals will remain in our care and will be given our support for the remainder of their lives in a foster home. This costs S.A.R.A a lot of money each year so to help with the costs we set up a Sponsor an Animal Scheme. If you would like more information regarding sponsoring an animal please follow the like to Sponsor an Animal

Sponsorship

SARA is engaged in the rescue and ultimate re-homing of strays and unwanted pet, but from time to time animals arrive which cannot, for a variety of reasons, be re-homed. These animals will remain in our care and will be given our support for the remainder of their lives in a foster home.

This costs S.A.R.A a lot of money each year so to help with the costs we set up a “SPONSOR AN ANIMAL SCHEME” which give you the opportunity to help these animals in return you will receive a regular update from our chosen animal and an invitation to our open days where you can meet your sponsor dog (special arrangements can be made for cats).

We are heavily assisted be volunteers therefore you can be reassured that every penny you donate goes directly to the animals. Not only that but if you are a tax payer we can turn every £1 in £1.28 though the Inland Revenue Gift Aid Scheme for example:

A monthly donation of £5 would return £6.40

A monthly donation of £10 would return £12.80

A monthly donation of £20 would return £25.60

All you have to do is choose your favourite animal from those below, complete the form attached and return it to us as soon as possible. You can donate as much or as little as you wish by either taking the standing order to your bank or sending to us so we can forward it on or you can also make a payment by cheque made payable to S.A.R.A.

If you wish to complete a Sponsorship Form please print it out making sure your page settings allow it to be printed on a single sheet of A4 paper and then post it to Foxrush farm, Kirkleatham lane, Redcar, TS10 5NJ

Sensory Garden

Inspired by a dogs’ sensory garden at a national flower show SARA thought it would be a brilliant idea and be ideal for the dogs at our sanctuary.

A derelict piece of land has been transformed into a garden full of exciting zones for the dogs to roam freely, under supervision.

A central pebble path runs through a free flowing water spray and a grasses garden provides soft textures.  There is  a rockery, also a log area and an arbour providing shade for resting or grooming.   Raised beds house a profusion of relaxing aromas with herbs to calm animals.

It is an exciting addition to the Sanctuary facilities and has been funded by friends and supporters of SARA.
